The Most Beautiful Guitar. Ever.

PRS 10th Anniversary Custom 22:

Not much needs to be said about this guitar. I found this description, though, that helps explain why this limited edition (and no longer sold) guitar would set you back 20 grand:

Maybe it is the custom inlays that depict the last 10 years or the custom engraved pickup covers, rosewood tuning buttons and pickup rings and green ripple abalone? Or maybe the gold hardware, black and ivoroid along the fingerboard or the body detail finished in Mother of Pearl. Well it is all of these things of course but also that this is a private stock instrument that has all of these extra details. The PRS Private Stock guitars use woods that are set aside as the “best of the best” or “Paul’s Private Stash”!

If I could ever afford to purchase a guitar like that and not feel guilty about it somehow, I don’t think I could ever play it. I’d have to buy a display case with temperature control and bolt it to the wall. It would also need bullet-proof glass and temperature sensors.

Les Paul “Screwless” Pickguard

I highly recommend these pickguards. I have one for my Epiphone Les Paul and am very excited about the idea of not drilling holes into the nice body of the guitar. Granted it’s not exactly screwless – it uses the screws in the pickups. Reading a bit about them on this forum seems to indicate they are very sturdy and reliable. I’ll have to break mine in, but I’m happy with it so far. Highly recommended.

Mine cost about $30 total, which includes the pickguard, a custom symbol, and shipping. They are available for most LP models, including Epiphone and Gibson brand.

Here’s an image of mine right after I installed it:

I want to go home

Hoist up the John B sails, because we got two times the John B that you bargained for. Is the song about Nam? Is it about a musician who turned a poem into a song? Is it about a terrible trip on a boat? I don’t really know…it just sounds good.

So, for your entertainment, both versions. As much of a Beach Boys fan I am, I prefer Relient K’s rendition. It’s a bit faster and sounds great.
